Another networking group? Doesn't it seem like almost everyone you run into is starting a networking group?
What is different about Focus Point Networking?
Well, for starters, we're different. Focus Point Networking was started by Karen Riley of KFR Communications
and Tom Forgione, of Web Alliance International. Collectively, we have belonged to over 2 dozen networking groups. We've
served on the board, attended meetings and read the newsletters. What's more, we've talked to people at these events
about what they liked and didn't like.
We didn't stop there. We took that feedback and combined it with our experience. Tom has been teaching marketing and
other business development classes at Ocean County College for almost 10 years. He has been developing websites since the
Internet began - when websites didn't have graphics and monitors were monochrome. His prestigious list of clients include
Fortune 1000 companies such as Timex, Mattel, and many others.
Karen has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and also teaches classes in business development. In addition
to owning a web development company, she has also worked as reporter for the Asbury Park Press, NJ Monthly, New Egypt Press,
Tri-Town News and others. She listens to what people have been saying about their networking needs.
They have teamed up to form Focus Point Networking. It is a product of the environments they live, breathe and work in.
Tom and Karen are Resource Partners with SCORE (a division of the SBA) and counsel new businesses on marketing.
Our goal in forming Focus Point Networking is to deliver an educational component to every session. "Not only will you
walk away with leads, but also practical business tips that you can put into effect as soon as you walk out the door," Karen states.
Each session will also include marketing tips and tricks so you can make the most effective use of those leads you leave with.
Besides networking, education and marketing, you will enjoy delicious entrees by the fine chefs of Tommy's Restaurant, all
in conveniently located downtown Toms River, with convenient parking. And a portion of the money collected at each event will
benefit a local charity.
